Opportunity: An exciting national role as a Business Development Manager is available, focusing on BD, marketing, and client development for two key Markets: Central & Local Government and Housing. This position involves creating and delivering strategic business plans alongside Market Heads, aiming to enhance market presence, develop client relationships, secure new business, and achieve ambitious growth targets. The role is supported by a dedicated Business Development Executive and the wider BD & Marketing team.

Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Developing and implementing strategic business plans for the Central & Local Government and Housing Markets.
Client Development: Creating and executing strategic client plans, advising on client activities, conducting reviews, and gathering feedback through surveys and reports.
Market Meetings: Leading BD initiatives in regular Market meetings, offering advice, innovative ideas, and critical insights.
Market Analysis: Collaborating with Market Heads, Department Heads, and the Knowledge & Information Team to stay abreast of market and regulatory changes.
Marketing Campaigns: Designing and managing compelling marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including email, web, social media, events, sponsorships, PR, and direct marketing.
Relationship Management: Building and nurturing strategic relationships with key intermediaries, regulators, and membership organizations to maximize ROI.
Event Planning: Organizing and executing an annual program of events and sponsorships to enhance profile and foster networking opportunities.
Content Development: Creating and distributing client publications and thought leadership content in various formats, including text, video, audio, and infographics.
Marketing Collateral: Overseeing the creation of marketing materials such as brochures, promotional videos, web content, and case studies.
Proposal Support: Producing persuasive proposals and presentations, and supporting the Bids Team in responding to formal bids.
Framework Compliance: Working with legal framework owners to ensure compliance and prepare for framework reviews and retendering.
Directory Submissions: Overseeing legal directory and award submissions relevant to the MFGs.
Budget Management: Managing BD budgets, ensuring maximum ROI from all activities.
Internal Communication: Providing Market updates through internal communication channels and regular Board reports.
Cross-MFG Collaboration: Collaborating with the BD & Marketing team to share best practices and develop cross-Market solutions and campaigns.
CRM Utilization: Using CRM systems - Peppermint CRM and Introhive - to support BD, marketing, and client development activities.
Network Building: Developing relationships with key clients, prospects, intermediaries, industry groups, and journalists to support BD and marketing activities.
Team Management: Leading and developing the BD Executive supporting the Central & Local Government and Housing Markets.
Skills & Experience:
5+ years' experience in BD/marketing within a professional services environment.
Knowledge of Central Government, Local Authorities, and/or the Housing market is advantageous.
Proven track record in enhancing an organization’s profile and reputation through marketing events and campaigns.
Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships.
Highly motivated, self-driven, and results-oriented.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Commercial acumen with a deep understanding of client markets and their challenges.
Experience in identifying, generating, and converting new business opportunities.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, CRM systems, and financial software/reports.
Degree or equivalent professional experience.
Hybrid Working: Candidates need to be within a commutable distance of the Bristol or Leeds offices. The organization offers flexible hybrid working arrangements, balancing personal needs with those of the team and clients. Some travel to other offices or locations will be required.
